Cambridge American Cemetery - GS service project

Last Saturday the Girl Scouts were asked to complete a service project that they had done for several years a couple times a year.  The headstones at the cemetery needed their wash down.  The girls got together and formed groups to clean rows of headstones.  Our first stop was a visit to the resting place to one of just few women buried in the cemetery   One of the troops had adopted this grave and placed flowers there each visit.  The girls then began carefully washed dirt and debris from each of the headstones.  The girls searched for different stated on the headstones as well as looked at the name and dates.

This service project was great for us since we had placed flags at the cemetery in NJ each year.  This was an additional thing Paige learned she could do for those that fought before her daddy.
